Mayor Ronald Belmont and Chief Joseph J. Yasinski presented the officers with their new shields and thanked them for the excellent work they have done for the department during their careers.
“The people we promote today each have a record of accomplishment and success,” Belmont said. “I look forward to the service they will continue to provide to the Department and the people of Harrison.”
Promoted were:
- • Sgt. Vincent Lanzillotti, a 12-year veteran, to Lieutenant;
- • PO William Duffelmeyer, a 21-year veteran, to Sergeant;
- • PO Richard Abbate, a 12-year veteran, to Sergeant;
- • PO Anthony Conte, a 6-year veteran, to Sergeant.
“With new ranks come new responsibilities,” Yasinski said. “I am confident that these supervisors will help us to continue to move this great Department forward. The leadership provided by lieutenants and sergeants is critical to the success of those under their command and to the success of the entire department.”
In addition to the promotions, the department also swore in four new probationary police officers. The four new officers will begin 20 weeks of training at the Westchester County Police Academy on Monday.
They are: Alexandra Menniti, Michael Forgione, David Tolve and Robert Longo.
“I welcome these new officers to our Department and wish them success at the Academy in the months ahead,” Yasinski said.
